ASTM B163 B407 ASME SB163 SB407 N08811 Nickel Alloy Seamless Tubes Pipes Incoloy 800HT Seamless Tubing can be used at temperatures up to about 1100°C (2010°F). In order to have the best ductility, the 800HT pipe should be used above 700°C (1290°F).
Enhanced Chemical Composition
Incoloy 800HT is a modified version of Incoloy 800, with increased carbon (0.06%–0.10%) and higher aluminum and titanium content (minimum 0.85%) to improve creep resistance, making it more suitable for high-temperature, long-term use.
Superior Corrosion Resistance
The alloy offers excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments, including nitric acid, organic acids, seawater, and salts. It also resists chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC). However, it is not recommended for sulfuric acid exposure, and it can be susceptible to chromium carbide precipitation at temperatures between 1000°F and 1400°F (538°C - 760°C).
High-Temperature Performance
Incoloy 800HT excels at resisting oxidation, carburization, and sulfidation at temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C), making it ideal for high-temperature applications. It also maintains toughness at cryogenic temperatures, allowing it to perform well across a wide range of thermal conditions.
Mechanical Properties
Incoloy 800HT provides good mechanical properties, particularly toughness, even at cryogenic temperatures. It is typically supplied in a low-strength, solution-annealed condition and is suitable for high-temperature service.
Workability and Heat Treatment
It can be cold worked in its annealed condition. Hot working should be done above 1600°F (871°C), and solution annealing is typically carried out at temperatures between 2050°F - 2150°F (1121°C - 1177°C), followed by rapid cooling to maintain its desired properties.
